1. Introduction

Telecom Metric is committed to fostering an inclusive environment by identifying, removing, and preventing barriers to accessibility. In compliance with the Accessible Canada Act (ACA) and the CRTC Accessibility Reporting Regulations, this Accessibility Plan outlines our strategies and actions to enhance accessibility across our organization.

2. Policies, Programs, Practices, and Services

In accordance with subsection 51(1) of the ACA, Telecom Metric has implemented the following measures:

  • Employment: We ensure our recruitment processes are accessible, providing accommodations during hiring and employment as needed.

  • Built Environment: Our facilities are designed to be accessible, with regular assessments to identify and address potential barriers.

  • Information and Communication Technologies (ICT): Our digital platforms, including our website, conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards to ensure accessibility for all users.

  • Communication (Other than ICT): We offer multiple communication channels, including telephone and email, and provide information in accessible formats upon request.

  • Procurement of Goods, Services, and Facilities: Accessibility considerations are integrated into our procurement policies to ensure that goods and services acquired are accessible.

  • Design and Delivery of Programs and Services: We actively seek feedback to improve the accessibility of our programs and services, ensuring they meet the needs of persons with disabilities.

3. Consultation with Persons with Disabilities

As required by subsection 51(5) of the ACA, Telecom Metric consulted with persons with disabilities in the preparation of this plan. This included:

  • Surveys and Feedback: We conducted surveys to gather input on existing barriers and suggestions for improvement.

  • Focus Groups: Engaged with focus groups comprising individuals with diverse disabilities to understand their experiences and needs.

  • Collaboration with Advocacy Groups: Partnered with disability advocacy organizations to gain insights and recommendations.

4. Consideration of ACA Principles

In line with subsection 51(9) of the ACA, this plan reflects the principles set out in section 6 of the Act:

  1. Dignity: All individuals are treated with respect, regardless of their disabilities.

  2. Equal Opportunity: Everyone has the same opportunity to make for themselves the lives they are able and wish to have.

  3. Barrier-Free Access: Commitment to providing barrier-free access to full and equal participation in society.

  4. Autonomy: Ensuring individuals have meaningful options and are free to make their own choices.

  5. Intersectionality: Recognizing and addressing the multiple and intersecting forms of marginalization and discrimination faced by persons with disabilities.

  6. Inclusive Design: Involving persons with disabilities in the development and design of laws, policies, programs, services, and structures.

  7. Highest Level of Accessibility: Striving to achieve the highest level of accessibility in the development and revision of accessibility standards and regulations.

6. Publication and Accessibility

This Accessibility Plan is published on our website’s homepage and is available in accessible formats upon request. The electronic version meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, ensuring it is accessible to all users.

7. Progress Reporting and Updates

Telecom Metric will publish annual progress reports detailing the implementation of this plan and will update the Accessibility Plan at least every three years, as mandated by the ACA.
